Burger King SpongeBob Meal

These are quoted directly from Burger King's press release announcing the menu — the primary source for what each item actually contained.

Less than the packaging suggested. Burger King's description lists a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mayo and ketchup — which is the standard Whopper build. The change was the bun: square and yellow, in a nod to the Krabby Patty from the show.

For scale, the standard Whopper this site tracks is 670–710 cal and $6.19–$8.04. The Krabby Whopper's reported launch price of $6.99 sat inside that range. We are not publishing a calorie figure for the Krabby Whopper, because neither of our nutrition sources carries limited-time items and an estimate would be a number we invented.

The Cheesy Bacon Tots are a similar story. Burger King already sells tots — our dataset carries the 8 Piece Cheddar Ranch Tots at 270 cal — and the SpongeBob version changed the shape to coins, added cheese and bacon, and put them in a treasure-chest carton.

The menu was timed to The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, which released on 19 December 2025. Launching on 1 December put the promotion in restaurants about two and a half weeks before opening weekend — the standard pattern for a film tie-in, where the aim is to build awareness into the release rather than follow it.

Burger King's chief marketing officer for the US and Canada, Joel Yashinsky, framed it in the announcement as a family partnership: At Burger King we do partnerships that are fun for the whole family. The King Jr. Meal component, with six collectible toys and a themed crown, is the clearest expression of that — the toys, not the food, were the draw for the target audience.

This is worth understanding if you are trying to predict whether an item returns. Tie-in menus are built around a release window and are usually retired with it. Items that survive tend to be ones that worked on their own terms rather than as merchandise, which is why a novelty bun rarely outlives its film.

We do not know, and we would rather say so than guess. Here is exactly what we can and cannot establish:

• Confirmed: the menu launched on 1 December 2025, from Burger King's own announcement.
• Confirmed: it was sold as a limited-time offer "while supplies last".
• Confirmed: Burger King announced no end date.
• Not confirmed: that it is on sale today, 8 August 2026.

Several sites state the Krabby Whopper is "still available in 2026". Those are the same auto-relabelling pages that this project tested and rejected when sourcing prices — one of them advertises a current date in its headline while its own byline shows content from 2023. The reliable answer is the Burger King app, which prices and stocks per restaurant. If it is not listed there for your location, it is not available there — regardless of what any menu site says.
